Mill City Auto Body (3718 Chicago Ave S.): Starting at 8pm sharp, starring Samosa (jazz-fusion madness), the Scarlet Villains (awesome garage rock), Jaded Reign (hip-hop), Turn Back Now, and featuring James Denzer, Britt Ireland, Claire Johnson, Warsame Awale, and Kristel & Emily. This is the kick-off party for a series of benefit shows to bring running water to Nine Mile, Jamaica.
This line-up fucking kicks ass, and I don’t just say that because my band’s in it. There will also be much drunkenness in the house where we all hang out, because it’s like a block from this place. There will be delicious and wonderful food for sale, also. Jerk Chicken or something. Probably some vegan option as well, but I’m not sure.Also, last night, we played in a dorm at St. Thomas, and it was awesome. Turns out sober Catholic rich kids actually can get down.
